Task Builder

Purpose Structured visual controls that help users compose multi-step instructions without writing complex prompts. Form-like UI that assembles into agent instructions.
Use when The task is complex enough that a free-text prompt is likely to be incomplete, but the parameters of the task are predictable enough to be structured into fields, dropdowns, and toggles.
Do not use For simple single-step queries where a prompt input suffices. Task Builder adds cognitive overhead — only deploy it where that overhead is justified by the complexity of the underlying task.
Failure mode prevented Users attempt to describe complex multi-step agent tasks in natural language and the agent mis-interprets scope, order, or conditions — producing work that must be entirely redone.

Design rule

The assembled instruction preview is mandatory. Users must see the exact prompt the agent will receive before they submit. The task builder assembles structured UI into natural language — show that transformation explicitly.
